According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, both the Indiana Pacers and Dallas Mavericks have expressed a desire to add Wiggins to their rosters. While this doesn’t guarantee a deal will be made, it’s a starting point for negotiations.
It would benefit the Warriors to explore trade options for Wiggins as many people in the NBA don’t see them going far with their current lineup. Charania mentioned on FanDuel TV’s Run It Back that the Pacers and Mavericks are two teams expressing interest in Wiggins.
Wiggins is currently averaging 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, shooting 44 percent from the field and 31 percent from beyond the arc. He signed a four-year, $109 million contract extension with the Warriors in 2022.
According to Anthony Slater of The Athletic, the Warriors may not need to include draft picks in a potential trade involving Wiggins. Slater stated that Wiggins is the most likely player on the team to be dealt and that the Warriors have received offers involving players in exchange for Wiggins.
Both the Pacers and the Mavericks are reportedly seeking additional help in their frontcourt. The Pacers recently acquired forward Pascal Siakam in a trade with the Toronto Raptors, and it seems they are still looking to bolster their roster.
